The Stookey residence is located on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, occupying the top floor of a brownstone building. This was an interior architecture project I worked on as a contract designer for Anne Hall Design. My involvement included measuring the apartment and drafting existing conditions plans, producing lighting plans, and demo plans. I then created a new floor plan layout, with proposals for the kitchen, master bath, living room built-ins, and closets. The designs were executed exactly according to the drawings. I worked on this project the Spring of 2010 through the winter of 2011.
Existing Conditions
Detail of Kitchen and Bath, proposed design. The Home owners wanted a larger Living and Dining room space, so I proposed the existing wall between the Dining Room and Bedroom be removed. To maintain a sense of slight distance to the powder room off of the Dining Room, I relocated the laundry and had the hall to the Family Room, now the Master Bedroom, turn a corner. I also carved out space for walk-in closets across from the Master Bath.
